Peach Pie

RAVE REVIEW FOR PEACH PIE in LA! http://www.blackculturalevents.com/event/peach-pie-film/ "Roberto Mighty, in his short film Peach Pie, uses an evocative soundtrack, wonderfully subtle acting, and often wordless scenes to tell the heartbreaking story of an afternoon encounter between a black mentally ill war widow, her bi-racial seven-year-old son, a well-meaning white neighbor, and the peach pie at the center of it all. Peach Pie, set in a Boston we rarely see on film, uses a simple neighborly gesture to show how faceless apartment buildings contain the little-examined drama of everyday lives, and reminds us that untreated mental illness sometimes informs those lives. Perhaps most devastating is the portrayal of the effects of a nation at war and how these Middle East conflicts, though largely hidden and little-discussed, can be devastating to those left behind. Peach Pie is a highlight of “Cal Summer Shorts,” from the California International Shorts Festival,  11am Saturday, June 25th 2016 at the Acme Comedy Theater (5126 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood CA 91601.

December 6, 2015: The first official Peach Pie film trailer is live!  https://vimeo.com/147959736

It's been four feverish weeks since we wrapped principal cinematography in Boston's Fort Point Channel arts district. Since then, our Second Unit has been at it almost daily, shooting inserts, exterior establishing shots all over Boston, detail shots, doing foley (after-shoot sound effects), auditioning music from talented composers, and creating a few VFX shots which, if the job was done correctly, no one will ever notice, ha ha. You can help by checking out the new trailer, liking it on Facebook, and sharing it with all your friends on social media, email, word-of-mouth, etc. If you know any film festival judges, feel free to send the link straight to them, as well :-) Roberto expects to wrap up editing in time for Spring, 2016 international film festival circuit. Thanks so much for spreading the word about Peach Pie!

November, 2015: After two years of preparation, principal cinematography on Peach Pie, Roberto Mighty's new independent film, is complete. Our cast and crew of 17 friends - old and new - wrapped on Sunday, November 8th, exhausted, but happy! Second Unit work - a few scenes and Special FX - begins mid- November.  Next order of business: letting the world in on the big secret, via social media, the web and word-of-mouth. Look for us on Facebook, twitter, at www.peachpiefilm.com. Please share this site and our other social media with all your friends!  Roberto has already begun editing the first trailer, and has already started the editing process, hopefully in time for early 2016 previews. Then...on to film festivals worldwide. Support us by spreading the word. Thank you!
